BIOGRAPHY
I was born and raised into 3rd generation family business of General Home Building and Architectural Cabinet and Millwork Business, owned by my father and great uncle. I became state licensed in 1976 and moved the works to the Sierra’s, serving the Lake Tahoe region in 1978 through 2022. In my peak years I owned and operated the largest showroom of premium cabinetry in the U.S., and with a complete Millwork Shop, hand building entry doors and curved stairs. I was the youngest in state records to qualify and received both A-1 and B-1 licenses, 46 years later, I still have both licenses. (A-1 General Engineering, B-1 General Building, as well as C-3 and C-6 Cabinets and Millworks.)
Premium homes were our specialty; magazine quality kitchens, elegant bathrooms, living rooms, elaborated grand curved staircases, complex entry door systems, mantles and libraries, all handmade and finished. Professionally conceived all drawings through completion, all finished millworks.
Awards & Recognition: Awarded International Grand Staircase of the Year 1995 in Europe. Numerous photo lay-outs in Architectural Digest, Home & Garden, El Décor. Largest Show Room in the world of William Ohs Premium Cabinets and named 3rd Best Designer nation-wide by William Ohs. Numerous private homes for the Scripps family, owners of the ‘Food Cooking Network’, numerous celebrities and Fortune 500 Homes.
I was taught to make and mix stains into finishes from scratch, from basic oils and powders, etc., at a young age, by my father and great uncle. We did not want anyone else finishing our millworks, only us. That was the way it was back in Europe in the old days! Over the years, I developed all my own products and specialty processes, so I am now pleased and proud to bring to you my new and complete refinishing line called Cabinet Guard®.
